Veena is a highly skilled occupational therapist with over a decade of expertise in neurological rehabilitation and mental health. She brings specialized certifications as an ADHD-Rehab Service Provider, Certified Brain Injury Specialist, and Certified Stroke Rehab Specialist to ensure exceptional care and evidence-informed solutions for your needs. She additionally has specialized training in smartphone and technology addiction, social skills deficits, personality disorders, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These skills enable her to deliver targeted interventions and comprehensive support tailored to the specific challenges youth and adults encounter in today’s complex world.Most recently, Veena established an Occupational Therapy department in a residential mental health program catering to clients from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. She worked with individuals with diagnoses of mood, psychotic, anxiety, and personality disorders, often with co-occurring substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and ADHD. Integration of OT into existing mental health services (psychotherapy, psychiatry, nursing, supported employment, etc.) was a key aspect of this initiative.
