About Amy:

“Hello all, my name is Amy Jenkins. My commission to therapy came after completing extensive therapeutic work while attending Moody Bible Institute. During this time I saw the Lord reveal Himself to me in a profound way, through His Word and through His people. While I searched for my role in ministry the opportunity arose to return to school and this is where my calling came full circle. I have had the pleasure to experience the “beauty from ashes’ ‘ work for myself in therapy and my hope is to join others in their own beauty from ashes therapeutic work. My training from Moody Bible Institute has helped to build my faith and resources. I was blessed again when attending Abilene Christian University, to obtain a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy that has awarded me extensive knowledge in working with individuals and couples. While in the Master’s Program, I served at Stay The Course(now One Tribe). While at STC, I was able to work with veterans, first responders, and their spouses providing counseling services. Upon leaving STC, I completed additional coursework to make myself eligible to sit for the National Counselors Examination(NCE). Praise the Lord, I passed and moved into Associate level counseling. This proved to be a try season, we had moved and COVID had unfolded on us. During this time, it wasn’t till years later that I would come to embrace the struggles during this time. In 2021, we moved back to the metroplex and shortly there after Strive 2 Thrive moved from a pen to paper idea to an office. In my experience as a human I have come to understand that life is hard. Day- to-day challenges arise and can bring unwelcome stressful feelings. Relationships are a part of everything we do and our best intentions are sometimes met with complications or difficulty. Myhope is to remind folks of the compassion that the Lord has graced us with and that we can see each other as learning to navigate the challenging world ahead of us.My approach to counseling not only comes from study of evidence based tools but also a genuine desire to come alongside others in their journey. Proverbs 1:5 is part of my prayer at Strive 2 Thrive, I pray to offer wise counsel to those seeking my services. My goal is to aid those in learning fresh tools and perspectives in order to have more peace and joy throughout their lives.”
